Pierz Pioneers at Little Falls Flyers Volleyball 2025

The Pioneers won a thrilling 3-2 match against the Flyers with a reverse sweep on Senior Night!  Scores were 20-25, 17-25, 27-25, 25-23, 15-9. The Pioneers fought off 3 match points in the 3rd set to stay alive in the match. Macy Sadlovsky was 17-17 serving with 2 aces, 8 digs, 4 blocks and 6 kills. Brooklyn Hanneken dished out 36 assists and had 18 digs, Eva Schlieman had a season-high 12 kills and Sophie Leidenfrost had 36 assists.

The Pioneers lost 3-0 at home to Pequot Lakes by scores of 12-25, 20-25, 17-25. Eva Schlieman led the Pioneers with 5 kills, Brooklyn Hanneken had 17 assists, Sophie Leidenfrost had 12 digs, and Shelby Pulak was a perfect 10-10 from the service line with 1 ace. Amber Boser added 4 blocks on defense. 

Pierz Pioneers vs St. Cloud Apollo Eagles Football 2025

The Pioneers rolled past the Eagles 76-6 to improve to 6-0 on the season. Everybody on the roster got into the game as the Pioneers ran for 8 touchdowns, led by Brayden Foust with 131 yards and 3 TD's, and Paul Nieman, Liam Hennessy, Gavin Winzenburg, Alex Rybaski and Evan Kraska also rushed for scores. Tyler Kimman returned an interception for a score, Brayden Foust had a 76 yard punt return for a TD and Liam Hennessy found Bo Woitalla with a 28 yard touchdown pass.  Pierz scored 42 points in the 1st quarter and led 62-0 at halftime.

The Pioneers were swept at home by the Falcons by scores of 13-25, 15-25, 19-25. Autumn Jones had 6 kills, was 17-17 serving with 4 aces, Joelle Young and Brooklyn Hanneken had 9 assists each, and Sophie Leidenfrost had 13 digs.

The Pioneers lost 3-1 at Milaca by scores of 12-25, 25-22, 20-25, 15-25. Mataya Pohlkamp led Pierz with 11 kills, Sophie Leidenfrost had 25 digs, Brooklyn Hanneken passed out 30 assists and also had 3 ace serves and Amber Boser was 10-10 serving with 2 blocks.

For the 2nd time this season the Wolves downed the Pioneers by a 3-1 score. Set scores were 12-25, 25-22, 20-25, 15-25.  Mataya Pohlkamp had a season-high 11 kills, Brooklyn Hanneken had 30 assists, went 14-14 serving with 3 aces and Sophie Leidenfrost had 25 digs while Macy Sadlovsky and Amber Boser had 11 digs each.

The Pioneers won their Homecoming game with a 40-7 victory over the Little Falls Flyers. The Pierz defense shined with 4 interceptions in the 1st half, with Tyler Kimman picking off 2, including a 45 yard pick-6, and Brayden Foust and Liam Hennessy also had interceptions.  The Pioneers passing game got untracked as Liam Hennessy completed 6-12 passes for 152 yards and an 18 yard scoring strike to Bo Woitalla. Liam Hennessy, Sawyer Lochner and Paul Nieman all found the endzone on the ground.   Pierz improved to 5-0 with the win.

Pierz Pioneers vs St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders Volleyball 2025

The Pioneers and Crusaders played a highly entertaining 5-set match at the MAC with the Crusaders coming out on top with a 3-2 victory.  Set scores were 23-25, 25-21, 17-25, 25-12, 13-15. It was the 2nd time this year that these two teams played a 5-set match and the 7th time in the last 13 meetings overall!
Autumn Jones had 17 kills while Mataya Pohlkamp and Eva Schlieman had 10 each and Kate Hoheisel had an impressive match with 8 kills and 2 blocks. Brooklyn Hanneken had 38 assists, Amber Boser had 4 blocks and 4 players had double-digits in digs (Sophie Leidenfrost 21, Autumn Jones 15, Macy Sadlovsky 12, and Brooklyn Hanneken 11.)  

Pierz Pioneers vs Albany Huskies Football 2025

In a tremendous High School football game, the 3-0 Pierz Pioneers battled the 3-0 Albany Huskies in Albany on a rainy Friday night. It was a defensive battle in the 1st half as the game was tied 0-0 at halftime. Pierz scored first on a Brayden Foust 5 yard run to go ahead 7-0, but Albany tied things up less than 2 minutes later. On the 1st play of the 4th quarter, Liam Hennessy found Brayden Foust for a 50 yard touchdown pass and Pierz took a 14-7 lead. The Huskies tied the game at 14-14 with just over 4 minutes left in the game, but the Pioneers put together a 60 yard scoring drive, capped by a Paul Nieman 3 yard touchdown run with only :43 left in the game to put the Pioneers up 21-14. But Albany had one final drive in them, and quickly marched downfield. With only :04 left in the game and the ball on the Pierz 22 yard line, Albany's Connor Plumski caught a pass out of the backfield and as he plowed towards the goal line, Link Topps stepped up with a game-saving tackle at the Pierz 1 yard line as time expired to give the Pioneers a thrilling 21-14 win.

The Pioneers fell 3-0 to the Huskies at the MAC by scores of 19-25, 18-25, 16-25. Brooklyn Hanneken had 18 assists, Autumn Jones had 8 kills, and Sophie Leidenfrost had 24 digs while Macy Sadlovsky added 19.
