The Pioneers captured the Section 7AA Championship with a thrilling 33-27 win over Grand Rapids in Milaca. The Pioneers won just 6 matches but every one of them carried bonus points to lift the Pioneers to the State Tournament! Henry Hoffman sealed it with a pin at 285 to break a 27-27 tie.

The Pioneers defeated the Wolves 69-6 in the Section 7AA Semifinals in Milaca, highlighted by Carter Young's 200th career victory, making him just the 3rd Pioneers wrestler to reach that mark!

The #1 seed Pioneers opened the Section 7AA Team Tournament in Milaca with a 75-0 win over the North Branch Vikings.

The 3rd ranked Pioneers blanked the #2 ranked Patriots 35-0 in Brainerd to win the Section 7AAA Championship, their first Section title since 2019. The Pioneers defense was suffocating, holding the Patriots to only 41 yards of total offense and just 2 first downs. Jayden Zajac had the games only turnover with a 2nd quarter interception. Sawyer Lochner ran for 60 yards and 2 touchdowns, Brayden Foust ran for 74 yards and a touchdown and caught 2 passes for 21 yards, and Liam Hennessy ran for a touchdown and found Bo Woitalla for a 27 yard touchdown pass. Preston Saehr was a perfect 5-5 on extra point kicks. Pierz is now 10-0 and advances to the Class AAA State Tournament against Section 8AAA Champion Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton.

The Pioneers beat Esko 42-6 to advance to the Section 7AAA Championship game. Brayden Foust ran for 4 touchdowns (1, 12, 7, 35 yards), and Liam Hennessy ran for a touchdown and threw a 9 yard scoring pass to Jaxsen Hardy as Pierz improved to 9-0 for the season. Liam Hennessy had 8 tackles and Nick Virnig, Jayden Zajac, Tyler Fischer, Sawyer Lochner and Carter Young had 7 tackles each.

The Pioneers season came to an end with a 3-0 loss to the Mainstreeters by scores of 23-25, 11-25, 19-25. Autumn Jones had 8 kills, 10 digs and an ace serve, Brooklyn Hanneken 16 assists and 3 ace serves, Amber Boser had 4 blocks, 5 kills and was 8-8 serving, Macy Sadlovsky was 8-8 serving and had 5 kills and Sophie Leidenfrost had 27 digs, including breaking her own school record for digs in a season. Pierz ended the year with a record of 8-19.

The Pioneers finished off an undefeated regular season with a 62-6 win over the Wolves in Milaca. Liam Hennessy had a monster 1st half, throwing for 4 touchdown passes to 4 different receivers, finding Bo Woitalla, Tyler Kimman, Nick Virnig and Brayden Foust. Sawyer Lochner ran for 2 touchdowns and Grady Young, Paul Nieman and Brayden Foust also rushed for touchdowns. On defense, Preston Saehr recorded his first career interception and Jayden Zajac led the team with 8 tackles.

The Pioneers closed out their regular season with a loss at Granite Ridge Conference Champion Albany, but the bright spot was that the Pioneers did manage to take a set from the Huskies, losing 11-25, 27-25, 14-25, 13-25. Amber Boser and Autumn Jones had 6 kills each, Brooklyn Hanneken had 20 assists, Sophie Leidenfrost had 18 digs while Autumn Jones had 16 and Macy Sadlovsky was 9-9 serving with 1 ace. Pierz finished the regular season with a record of 8-18.

The Pioneers went to Holdingford on a Monday night and came home with their 2nd straight 5-set win, defeating the Huskers 3-2 by scores of 25-18, 21-25, 25-21, 18-25, 15-13. Brooklyn Hanneken handed out 39 assists, Eva Schlieman had another big night with 17 kills and Autumn Jones also reached double-figures in kills with 12. Amber Boser had 7 blocks and was 23-24 serving. Autumn Jones had 4 ace serves and Shelby Pulak was 18-19 serving with 1 ace. Sophie Leidenfrost led a trio of Pioneers in double-digit digs with 25 while Shelby Pulak had 14 and Autumn Jones 13.

The Pioneers improved to 7-0 with a 34-0 shutout win at Rockford. Brayden Foust ran for a 54 yard touchdown and caught a 6 yard scoring pass from Liam Hennessy in the 1st half as Pierz built a 14-0 lead. In the 2nd half, Paul Nieman made it 21-0 with a 1 yard scoring run in the 3rd quarter. In the 4th quarter, Brayden Foust socred his 3rd touchdown of the game on a 7 yard run, then Sawyer Lochner finished off the scoring with a 5 yard touchdown run.
