The Billygoats beat the Brewers 6-4 in Belle Plaine in the Sweet 16 on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Matt Tautges went the distance to earn his 3rd win of the Tournament and Ben Thoma smashed a 3-run double in Buckman's 4-run top of the 9th inning.

The Pioneers edged the Flyers 36-30 in the season opener as Aiden Jones ran for 125 yards and 5 touchdowns and Jaxsen Hardy picked off 2 passes, including one near the goal line in the final seconds of the game to preserve the Pioneers victory.

The Pioneers lost 3-0 against the defending Class AA Champion Patriots by scores of 25-19, 25-16, 25-16.

The Billygoats used a 1st inning Grand Slam Homer from Aaron Weber, then a solo shot from Ben Thoma in the 3rd and then Noah Boser singled home a run and Ben Thoma smacked a 2-run double in the top of the 9th to beat the Hurricanes 8-2 in Jordan. The win moves the Goats to Labor Day weekend!

The Lightning dropped a 3-1 game to the Muskies in the 2nd round of the Class C State Tournament in Jordan. Trailing 1-0 after 6 innings, Nisswa's Jeremiah Piepkorn belted the 1st pitch of the top of the 7th over the fence in left for a game-tying Homer. In the bottom of the 8th, Sartell used an rbi triple from Cody Partch and then a sacrifice fly from Tim Burns to make the final 3-1 and send the Muskies to the Sweet 16.

The Lumberjacks bowed out of the State Tournament with a heart-breaking 4-3 loss in 10 innings to the Express in Jordan. Kimball got a 2-out 3-run double from Brooks Marquardt in the 2nd inning and that was holding up until the bottom of the 9th when Foley's Charles Hackett drilled a game-tying, 2-out 3-run Homer. Kimball then used an error, a walk and an rbi single from Matt Friesen in the top of the 10th to win 4-3.

The Lightning began their State Tournament with a 4-0 shutout of the Panthers in Jordan. Preston Rocheleau, a draftee from the Pierz Lakers, fired a Complete Game 5-hitter with 9 strikeouts. Aaron Jenkins broke a scoreless tie with a 2-run double in the 5th and then Nisswa got sacrifice Fly's from Jeremiah Piepkorn in the 8th and Nic Kotaska in the 9th for the 4-0 final.

The Billygoats opened their Tournament with an 8-1 win over the Sox in Jordan. Ben Thoma had a big game, with a 2-run single in the 3rd, and then a monster 3-run Homer in the 7th to drive in 5 runs in the game. Matt Tautges threw a Complete Game, scattering 7 hits while striking out 6 and didn't issue a walk. Tautges also had a 3-hit game, including a double and scored 2 runs.

The Brewers, playing at the State Tournament for the first time in 18 years, lost 4-1 to the Black Sox in Jordan. One bad inning did in the Brewers, as Carver scored all 4 of their runs in the 5th inning, getting 4 of the 6 total hits in the frame. Pierz got their lone run in the top of the 6th on a Preston Veith sacrifice fly, scoring Kaden Kruschek.

The Skis made their 3rd straight Class B State Tournament appearance but it was a short one, losing 5-1 to the Hopkins Berries in Jordan. Beau Thoma went 3-4 with a double and drove in Joey Welinski with a 5th inning single for Sobieski's only run.
