Royalton Riverdogs vs Upsala Bluejays Victory League 2025

The Bluejays beat the Riverdogs 13-4 in Royalton as Matt Swanson had 3 hits including a pair of doubles and 2 rbi, Jack Primus also had a 3-hit game with 2 doubles and Upsala benefitted from 7 Royalton errors, CJ Clear went the distance to get the Win for Upsala. Drew Yourczek, Hunter Young, Nathan Psyck and Ryan Snyder had 2 hit games for Royalton,

Pierz Brewers vs St. Mathias Devils Victory League 2025

The Brewers handled the Devils 14-3 in 7 innings at Hellie Field as Phil Zynda Homered twice, Preston Veith was 2-4 with a Home Run, a sacrifice fly and 6 rbi and Derek Dahmen was 2-4 with a double, a walk and drove in 2 for the Brewers. Pete Schommer worked 5 innings for the Win with Phil Zynda finishing the final 2 innings on the mound. Bryce Flanagan delivered all 3 of the Devils runs with a 3-run Homer in the 3rd.

Avon Lakers vs Nisswa Lightning Victory League 2025

The Lightning edged the Lakers 4-3 at Blattner Field in Avon as Ben Dornseif threw a Complete Game, striking out 2 while scattering 7 hits. Spencer Flaten Homered in the 1st, doubled in the 5th and added a sacrifice fly in the 7th to lead the Nisswa offense. Drew Boland also had a key hit with a big 2-run Homer in the 4th. Down 4-1 in the bottom of the 9th, Avon scored twice on a sacrifice fly by Elian Mezquita and an rbi single by Carter Philippi to make it 4-3. But Dornseif got Cole Wellmann to pop out to shortstop to end the game and leave Philippi stranded at 2nd.

Opole Bears vs Randall Cubs Victory League 2025

The Bears saw a 4-2 lead after 8 innings get erased when the Cubs scored 3 times in the top of the 9th on an rbi double from Zack Gwost and a 2-run double by Matt Otremba to take a 5-4 lead. But Opole picked up 3 straight hits to open the bottom of the 9th, including bunt singles by Luke Bieniek and Keaton Gustin to load the bases. Tate Lange got hit by a pitch to force in Alex Lange and tie the game at 5-5, then after a strikeout, a squeeze bunt by Maverick Novitski scored Luke Biniek with the winning run as Opole came back to win 6-5.

Pierz Lakers vs Opole Bears Victory League 2025

The Bears blanked the Lakers 2-0 behind a fabulous Complete Game 5-hit shutout with 7 strikeouts from Sam Butler. Keaton Gustin provided the only runs that Opole would need when he launched a 2-run Homer in the top of the 7th.

Foley Lumberjacks at Sobieski Skis Victory League 2025

The Skis poured it on late in a 13-0 win in 7 innings over the Lumberjacks. Sobieski led 3-0 going to the bottom of the 6th, then scored 10 times in the 6th, including Grand Slam Homer's from Beau Thoma and Riley Czech. Matt Filippi fired a Complete Game shutout, allowing just 2 hits to Lane Olson and Ean Von Wald, while striking out 9.

Pierz Lakers at Freeport Black Sox Victory League 2025

The Lakers got dominant pitching in an 8-0 shutout of Freeport at Black Sox Park. Starter Chase Becker worked 6 innings, allowing just a 6th inning single to Matt Johnson. Becker struck out 16 before Noah Cekalla and Preston Rocheleau finished things off with neither allowing a hit.  Cekalla struck out 5 and Rocheleau fanned 2 to give the Lakers pitching staff a total of 23 strikeouts for the game. Kolten Happke went 2-5 with 2 rbi, and Noah Cekalla was 2-4 with a double and 2 rbi. 

Buckman Billygoats at Avon Lakers Victory League 2025

The Billygoats beat the Lakers 4-3 at Blattner Field as Lane Girtz smashed a 2-run Homer in the 1st, Matt Tautges singled home a run in the 5th and Reese Young added an 8th inning rbi single. Rylan Robinson started and went 5 innings to get the Win, striking out 5. Avon got a run in the 2nd on a bases loaded walk to Carter Holthaus and then added 2 more in the 8th on a 2-run single by Nathan Sand.

Pierz Bulldogs vs Flensburg Falcons Victory League 2025

The Bulldogs opened the Victory League season with a 14-10 win over the Falcons at Hellie Field. Trailing 9-7 going to the bottom of the 7th, the Bulldogs scored 7 times to take the lead for good. Mason Herold had a big day for Pierz, going 4-5 with an rbi, a stolen base and a run scored. Gunnar Gustafson was 3-5 with a double, Sawyer Lochner doubled and tripled and Aeden Janson was 2-5 with a triple and 2 rbi for Pierz. Simon Pantzke was 2-5 with a Grand Slam Homer for Flensburg. 

Pierz Pioneers vs Albany Huskies Section 6AA Baseball Championship 2025

The Section 6AA Championship now came down to 1 game.  The winner goes to the State Tournament, the loser goes home for the year. After being the Home team in Game 1, the Pioneers now played as the Visitors in Game 2. After a scoreless 1st inning, the Pioneers took the lead in the top of the 2nd when Brayden Haberman ripped a lead-off double to left. Jackson Thielen then delivered a 2-out rbi single to score Haberman and make it 1-0.  Pierz added 2 more runs in the 4th on a 2-out rbi triple from Brecken Andres and an rbi double by Danny Litke to go ahead 3-0. Senior Nathan Solinger threw 6 shutout innings, giving up 4 hits with 7 strikeouts before Kaden Kruschek was called upon to pitch the 7th. Elliott Burnett kept Albany's hopes alive with a 2-out double, but Kruschek then got a ground ball to 2nd baseman Jackson Thielen, who fired to 1st baseman Bo Woitalla to finish off the Pioneers 3-0 Section Championship win, sending the Pioneers to the State Tournament for the 4th time in school history.
