Pierz Pioneers at Pequot Lakes Patriots Volleyball 2023

The Pioneers fall 3-0 to the top-ranked Patriots by scores of 25-10, 25-14 and 25-15.  Maddie Lochner led the team with 18 digs, Maddy Gaffke had 4 kills and Jenna Hoheisel dished out 7 assists.

Pierz Pioneers at Sauk Centre Mainstreeters Football 2023

The Pioneers rallied for a thrilling 18-12 win in Overtime to improve to 4-2.  Trailing 12-6 with under 1 minute left to play, Kyle Winscher found Max Barclay in the end zone for a game-tying touchdown.  In Overtime, the Pioneers defense held the Mainstreeters out of the endzone on their possession, then when Pierz got their chance, Reese Young scored from 3 yards out to give Pierz the 18-12 win.

Pierz Pioneers at Foley Falcons Volleyball 2023

The Pioneers fell 3-0 at Foley, keeping all 3 sets relatively close, but the Falcons simply had too much firepower for the Pioneers.  Scores were 20-25, 19-25, 21-25.

Pierz Pioneers vs Milaca Wolves Volleyball 2023

The Pioneers won their second home match of the season by downing the Wolves 3-1.  The Pioneers dropped the first set 19-25, but then won the next three by scores of 25-22, 25-23, 25-19.

Pierz Pioneers at Melrose Dutchmen Football 2023

The Pioneers beat the Dutchmen 33-0 in a game that was halted at halftime due to lighting.  Reese Young ran for 100 yards, caught a 7 yard touchdown pass and returned an interception 62 yards for another score.  Kyle Winscher ran for 2 touchdowns and Liam Hennessy also found the endzone for the Pioneers.  With his 100 yard night, Reese Young surpassed 2,000 career rushing yards.

Pierz Pioneers at Mora Mustangs Volleyball 2023

The Pioneers went the distance against the Mustangs, falling 3-2 by scores of 25-15, 26-28, 25-16, 20-25, 10-15.  Early in the match, Senior Maddie Lochner set a new Pierz school record for career digs.

Pierz Pioneers vs Holdingford Huskers Volleyball 2023

The Pioneers dropped a non-conference match against the Huskers by a score of 3-1 by scores of 18-25, 21-25, 25-21, 13-25.

Pierz Pioneers vs Albany Huskies Football 2023

The Pioneers lost 26-14 to the Huskies on Homecoming Night.  The Pioneers got an 11 yard touchdown run by Reese Young and a Caden Knutson 65 yard interception return for touchdown.

The Pioneers were swept 3-0 by a very good Huskies team by scores of 16-25, 9-25, 13-25.

Pierz Pioneers at Little Falls Flyers Volleyball 2023

The Pioneers picked up their first Granite Ridge Conference win of the season with a 3-1 win over the Flyers.  After dropping the 1st set 21-25, the Pioneers won the next 3 sets by scores of 25-23, 25-19 and 25-16.
